Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has released significant new insights from its inaugural AI for Business Study, revealing how healthcare providers are finally beginning to grapple with the challenges and opportunities emerging amid the AI revolution.
In one of the largest surveys of its kind, speaking with over 1.2K executives worldwide, key findings regarding the healthcare industry include:
- More than half (52%) of healthcare businesses expect productivity to at least double in the next few years.
- Many healthcare providers aren’t ready for AI, with 24% of firms still cleaning up data and migrating it to the cloud, with a further 28% not moving beyond the initial exploration phase of AI.
- Just under half of healthcare businesses (46 percent) plan to create healthcare-specific AI large language models (LLMs).
- 74 per cent of healthcare business leaders are deploying AI for innovation, while 27 percent are focusing its abilities on optimisation.
Healthcare executives say they are excited – or at least cautiously optimistic – about the potential Artificial Intelligence holds for their business. And they’re already using it – but do they know why?
